GRAND FORKS — Some local families in need will soon have more food in their cabinets.

Students at the University of North Dakota volunteered as part of the United Way's Stuff the Truck event.

Donations of everything from canned foods, to diapers and shampoo were dropped off in front of UND's bookstore.

Some people even dropped off backpacks full of school supplies.

A group of UND students volunteered to count and sort donations.

“Well, I think it's great for people to bring out items that they don't use in their own homes and give back to people who need it more than them,” said freshman volunteer Meghan Wilson.

If you missed your chance to stuff the truck on Tuesday night, you can still drop off donations at United Way’s Offices on Wednesday.
