East Grand Forks Sacred Heart conducts graduation amid pandemic

East Grand Forks Sacred Heart senior Kaitlyn Werner arrives in the processional of the Class of 2020 for commencement ceremonies Friday, May 22, in East Grand Forks as Bishop Michael Hoeppner, Msgr. Mike Foltz and Fr. Matthew Schmitz greet the graduates in front of the church. Sacred Heart celebrated the graduation of 27 seniors during the outdoor ceremony, conducted in an effort to avoid person-to-person contact. The ceremony was broadcast live over the KROX-AM radio station, based in Crookston, Minn., and included formal remarks by honorary students and other dignitaries.
