Travel will be hazardous Thursday afternoon into Thursday night, Nov. 19, as winter weather moves east through northeastern North Dakota into northwestern Minnesota.

A winter weather advisory took effect for the region at 2 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m. Thursday. The wintery mix will include briefly moderate to heavy snowfall, freezing rain and sleet. Travel conditions will be hazardous, especially along the Highway 2 corridor.

Up to one inch of snow accumulation is expected, as well as a glaze of ice.

Icy road conditions are already being reported. North Dakota road conditions can be found at dot.nd.gov/travel-info.

Hazardous winter weather will be possible again this weekend. A couple inches of snow could fall across northwestern Minnesota Saturday night, Nov. 21, and slippery conditions could develop that evening.
