A 29-year-old Grand Forks man was taken to the hospital Tuesday night, March 24, with injuries That are not life-threatening after being stabbed several times in the thigh.

Grand Forks police were dispatched to the 800 block of North 51st Street around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a robbery in progress. According to a release from the police department, the victim had been walking to his parents' home when an altercation occurred. The suspect, described in the release as a tall, medium-build man wearing dark clothing, fled the area.

The Grand Forks Sheriff's Department, UND Police and Altru paramedics assisted the GFPD. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the GFPD at (701) 787-8000.
