An East Grand Forks couple has been charged with a slew of tax crimes, the Minnesota Department of Revenue announced Thursday, Feb. 13.
Bryan Andrew Edvall and Katie Marie Edvall were both charged with five counts of gross misdemeanor failure to file individual income tax returns from 2014 through 2018. Bryan Edvall also was charged with five counts of felony failure to file individual income tax returns. They allegedly owe more than $42,600 in income tax, penalty and interest.
Each felony charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted, and each misdemeanor charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $3,000 fine. They are scheduled to make their first court appearance on March 5.
