Minot man arrested after standoff where he attacked police robot
MINOT, ND. -- A daylong incident and standoff where a 37-year-old Minot man “attacked” a police robot ended about 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, in the southwest part of the city after a struggle with police officers.
Minot police said Blake Lund was taken into custody and faces numerous charges.
The incident started about 7:15 a.m. when police received a report of a man in the middle of a street yelling.
Lund then went into a home and refused to come out. The SWAT team was called about 9:15 a.m.
Lund, said police, displayed a knife several times and at one point “attacked a police robot that was being used to communicate with him.”
After the struggle with officers, he was taken into custody about 4 p.m.
Lund had outstanding warrants for his arrest, including failure to appear in court on multiple felony charges.
He is facing new charges of felony preventing arrest and criminal mischief for damaging the police robot.
