Man accused in stabbing told police 'I'll kill your daughter'
A Grand Forks man charged with stabbing another man Tuesday afternoon also told a police officer "I'll kill your daughter," court documents said.
Dickie Lee Demery, 37, could spend up to five years behind bars if convicted.
Demery allegedly stabbed a 65-year-old man in an apartment at 1108 N. 39th St. around 3 p.m. The man who was stabbed told police he didn't know why Demery stabbed him, but said they knew each other, court documents said.
Demery was outside the apartment when police arrived and had blood on his hands, court documents said. He told police several conflicting reasons about why he had blood on his hands, none of which included stabbing, an affidavit for Demery's arrest said.
After he was arrested, police said Demery threatened the arresting officer's family and said "I'll kill your daughter" and "you better watch your family when I get out."
Demery was charged with aggravated assault and terrorizing. He's scheduled to enter a plea Dec. 12.
