A trial for a Cavalier woman, who is accused of taking more than $500 from Pembina County while serving as the tax director, is scheduled to begin Tuesday, July 23.
Julie Rae Doyle is facing two felony theft charges, which each holding a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
A criminal complaint said Doyle deposited a $267 check from Drayton Township for assessor fees into her personal account on May 19, 2016. Doyle received a $292 check for Pembina County from Beaulieu Township on April 11 and also deposited it into her personal account, the complaint said. Charges were filed in August 2017 and Doyle pleaded not guilty in December.
The trial is scheduled to conclude Friday, July 26.
