Crookston police are searching for a man they say jokingly threatened a McDonald’s cashier with a gun Monday night.
Police were called to the fast food restaurant, 1811 University Ave., at 7:25 p.m., a press release from the Crookston Police Department said. A gray SUV pulled up to the drive-through window around 6:30 p.m. and a man pulled out a handgun and told the cashier “give me all your money, just kidding,” before putting the gun away, the release said.
The man is in his early 20s, is white with light-colored hair and a skinny build, the release said. A woman in her 30s or 40s with brown hair was in the passenger seat, according to the release.
The cashier finished the transaction and the car left, the release said. Police said the man’s actions are criminal even though he implied they were a joke.
