Grand Forks brewers get their beer featured in local pubs
GRAND FORKS — A local brewer is getting some time in the big leagues. Half Brothers Brewing Company and The Blue Moose Bar and Grill have partnered to produce a local home brewer's beer.
For the past few years, Blue Moose has been hosting a home brewing competition, part of it's Oktoberfest celebration. Gary Warner has been home brewing beer for 10 years.
He and his retired Air Force buddies get together and brew in their free time. Gary won it all this year with his Hefeweizen, a German wheat beer.
For the first time in the competition, Half Brothers Brewing offered to produce Gary's beer for a limited run. The Half-A-Moose Hefeweizen will be available on tap at the Blue Moose and Half Brothers Brewing Company for as long as supplies last.
"It's an opportunity of a lifetime. I would've never dreamed that my beer would be on tap here or at Half Brothers. I just hope people enjoy it. I do," Warner said.
The Half-A-Moose Hefeweizen will be available on tap at the Blue Moose and Half Brothers Brewing Company for as long as supplies last. They brewed 300 gallons.
