BACKUS, Minn. -- The boater whose body was recovered from a Cass County lake Wednesday has been identified as Ronald Reinhart, 69, of Canton, Ga.
The driver of the boat was also identified as James Bifulk, 67, of Maplewood, according to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Reinhart’s body was recovered from Hay Lake, located in Ponto Lake Township northeast of Backus Wednesday afternoon, June 13, about a day after the sheriff’s office received a report of two people thrown from a boat.
When first responders arrived they found Bifulk and took him to shore, where he was treated for minor injuries.
Reinhart’s body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The cause of death was not included in the release.
