A Grand Forks man was killed in a beet truck crash near Reynolds, N.D. on Saturday, Oct. 23.

Robert Lutovsky, 73, was heading east on Eagle Avenue, about 2.5 miles west of Reynolds, when the truck left the roadway and entered the south ditch, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. There it struck an approach, partially tipped and caught fire. Lutovsky died on scene. It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.

Along with the NDHP, the Traill County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, Reynolds Fire & Rescue, West Traill EMS and Altru Ambulance responded to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
