Two people were injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 2 near Devils Lake Saturday afternoon, according to a report from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Samuel Feldmann, 26 of Rugby, was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on 76th Avenue NE attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 2 at a median crossover around 4:20 p.m. Saturday, April 3, about 6 miles west of Devils Lake.
According to the crash report, Feldmann allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way to 18-year-old Fargo man Marcus Warbitsky who was traveling eastbound on Highway 2 exceeding the posted speed limit of 70 mph.
Warbitsky’s 2010 Chevrolet Impala struck Feldmann at a right angle in the north lane of the road.
The Impala came to final rest on its wheels facing southeast in the southeast corner of the intersection, the report stated. The Silverado overturned as a result of being struck and came to final rest on its top facing southeast in the southeast corner of the intersection south of the Impala, according to the report.
Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
