A Manitoba man was injured in a crash on Interstate 29 Saturday.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. Saturday about six miles north of Grand Forks.
A 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by Wilfred Siatecki, had been traveling south on Interstate 29 and had stopped on the right shoulder.
While the driver’s door was opened, it was struck by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado driven by 22-year-old Luke Heuchert, according to a North Dakota Highway Patrol release.
Wilfred Siatecki, 66 of West Pine Ridge, Manitoba, was transported to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
Neither Hazel Siatecki, 65 of West Pine Ridge, Manitoba, and a passenger in the Cobalt, nor Heuchert, of Saint Thomas, N.D., were injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
The Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office, Manvel Fire & Rescue and Altru Ambulance responded to the scene.
