One injured after crash with snowplow in Grand Forks County
One person was transported to the hospital after a crash with a snowplow Thursday 4 miles south of Fordville, N.D., according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Thomas Durkin, 64, of Inkster, N.D., was driving a John Deere snowplow south on Grand Forks County Road 19 just before noon and was clearing snow from the intersection with County Road 1, the release said. Brandon Trenda, 26, of Petersburg, N.D., was eastbound on County Road 1 in a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, the release said.
As Trenda approached the intersection, the snowplow allegedly entered the intersection and struck the driver's side of his pickup. Trenda was transported to Altru Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, Highway Patrol said. The Chevrolet was totaled.
The snowplow is owned by the Grand Forks County Highway Department, and the Highway Patrol said the crash investigation is ongoing.
