Twin Cities-area man dies in central Minn. crash


WILLMAR, Minn. — A 42-year-old Shakopee man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash north of Willmar Thursday afternoon, Dec. 6.
According to a news release from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, the man was driving eastbound on County Road 127 in a 2018 Chevrolet utility truck when the collision occurred at the intersection with County Road 9.
The crash, reported at 3:53 p.m., occurred when the utility truck struck a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 40-year-old New London woman. She was northbound on County Road 9.
The woman was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. There was no word on her condition, according to the release.
The man was found outside his vehicle and pronounced dead.
The sheriff's office is not naming either driver pending notification of the families.
