CASSELTON, N.D. – No one was injured after a train collided with a passenger vehicle towing a trailer Wednesday morning, July 25, at a railroad crossing 2 miles east of here, police said.

An initial investigation found a westbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train struck the trailer being towed by a northbound vehicle at a rural railroad crossing at approximately 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

The trailer sustained heavy damage.

The 49-year-old driver of the vehicle, who was not identified by police, was issued a citation for care required.
