16-year-old North Dakota boy dies after being ejected from back of pickup
WILLISTON, N.D. -- A 16-year-old boy was ejected out of the back of a pickup and died as he and a group of other teenagers were traveling down a roadway with washboard ruts near Williston on Saturday night, July 21.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said the GMC Sierra pickup was traveling northbound on the rough road about one mile northwest of Williston about 10:25 p.m.when the accident occurred.
The teen was transported to CHI St. Alexius hospital in Williston where he died of his injuries in the accident.
The pickup was driven by a 15-year-old boy. Other passengers in the vehicle were another 16-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl and an 18-year-old boy. None of the others were injured.
The patrol is still investigating the incident.
