Lancaster man dies in pickup crash

LANCASTER, Minn. — A 34-year-old Lancaster man died in a one-vehicle crash in the early morning hours Saturday.

A news release from the Minnesota State Patrol said Adam Thomas Norskog was northbound on U.S. Highway 59 about 1:30 a.m. when the 2014 Ram pickup he was driving left the roadway and entered the west ditch at the intersection of Kittson County Road 5.

The pickup continued in the ditch until striking an approach, the news release said. It vaulted over the approach and struck several utility poles, rolling before coming to a rest on the driver’s side on Fifth Street in Lancaster.

The news release said Norskog was wearing a seat belt, but it was unknown if the airbag deployed or if any alcohol was involved. Norskog was taken to Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock, Minn. The Kittson County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
