A man suffered minor injuries after he drove his vehicle into Devils Lake on Sunday, July 28, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.

Frayne Berg, of Lakota, was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado north on state Highway 20 but continued through a stop sign across Highway 57 and into the lake around 3:30 p.m., the release said. The car was partially submerged in shallow waters and he was taken to St. Alexius Hospital, investigators said.

The investigation is ongoing, but Berg, 72, was cited for driving under the influence, disregarding a stop sign and having an open container of alcohol, the release said.
