Two people were injured after an 11-year-old girl drove an SUV into a home in Grand Forks Saturday afternoon. The 11-year-old’s father, who was a passenger in the Chevrolet Tahoe, was cited for “allowing an unqualified operator,” with more charges possible, according to the Grand Forks Police Department.

Officers were dispatched just before 1 p.m. Saturday to the 500 block of Fourth Avenue South for a call of Chevrolet Tahoe that had run into a house.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male and a 7-year-old girl had minor injuries. The child was taken to the hospital by her mother.

The driver of the vehicle, an 11-year-old girl, was located at home.

Preliminary investigation indicated the Tahoe was southbound on Walnut Street and turned to go west on Fourth Avenue South. The vehicle then went over the curb, striking two trees and the house.
