RYDER, N.D. — The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a 23-year-old Minot man who was struck and killed by an SUV while chasing a dog on Highway 28 near Ryder.
Ricky Finley Jr. was chasing a dog who got loose from a van parked on the side of the highway around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, about 3 miles south of Ryder. He was chasing the dog west across the southbound lane in the rain when a Buick Enclave driven by Mariah Wolf, 23, of New Town, struck him, the Patrol said.
Wolf was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.
Ryder is about 40 miles southwest of Minot.
