The North Dakota Highway Patrol will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Walsh County on Saturday, Sept. 18.

The checkpoint aims to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of driving impaired, according to a release from NDHP.

The release states that as of Aug. 28, there have been 74 traffic fatalities in North Dakota in 2021. Twenty-three of those fatalities were a result of alcohol-related crashes.
