Downtown drivers needing to cross the Sorlie Bridge on DeMers Avenue will have to take a different route starting on Wednesday, July 21.

According to a Grand Forks city news release, Minnesota Department of Transportation crews will begin repairing asphalt and concrete on the East Grand Forks side of the bridge on Wednesday. Detour signs will be posted directing traffic to the Kennedy Bridge on Highway 2.

Weather permitting, the work on the Sorlie Bridge is expected to take one week.
