Firefighters put out blazes in Polk County
The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating the cause of two fires in Climax and McIntosh, Minn.
Authorities responded early Wednesday to fires at a single-family home in Climax and a mobile home in McIntosh. No injuries were reported in the Climax fire, although Crookston Area Ambulance transported all four occupants to the RiverView Health Emergency Room for non-life-threatening smoke inhalation, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.
A cat also died in the fire, the Sheriff's Office said.
The mobile home's sole occupant escaped with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Hospital in Fosston, Minn.
