More than two dozen gallons of lube oil leaked from a locomotive on BNSF property in Grand Forks Tuesday morning.
Amy McBeth, a spokesperson for the BNSF, said the leak came from a locomotive that was being serviced in their facility on Monday. The leak was around 50 gallons, McBeth said.
"It was a minor maintenance issue that was addressed," she said in an email to the Herald. "The lube oil was contained on our property and appropriately recovered."
McBeth said the spill was on BNSF property and that their environmental contractors and employees responded using protocols for remediating the oil.
