ERSKINE, Minn.-A Mentor, N.D., man faces a criminal case after investigators said he was drinking and driving early Monday morning before causing a crash in Polk County that injured himself and a passenger.

Wayne Demmett Turner, 25, was charged Tuesday in Polk County District Court with two felony counts of criminal vehicular operation with substantial bodily harm.

He was driving a vehicle at 1:30 a.m. Monday near Erskine when the vehicle rolled over on Campground Road Southeast, according to a news release.

He and Angila Thompson, 25, of McIntosh, Minn., were treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being released from the hospital Monday, the release said.

Turner initially was arrested on one count of driving while intoxicated, according to the release. He also had an active misdemeanor warrant.

The Sheriff's Department is investigation the case.

Erskine is about 55 miles southeast of Grand Forks.
