Video shows gun-wielding man robbing Valley Dairy in Grand Forks

Grand Forks Police have released a video showing a suspect in a Thursday night armed robbery of a convenience store.

Officers are investigating the report of a man demanding money at gunpoint from a cashier in the Valley Dairy at 1401 S. Washington St. Witnesses said a man wearing a Minnesota Vikings jacket entered the store at 6:51 p.m., took an undisclosed amount of money then fled on foot.

Video from the store shows an African-American man wearing the Vikings jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, gray sweatpants, black athletic shoes and tan gloves enter the store. The suspect, whose face appears covered, walks toward the cashier before running away. Video shows the man holding what appears to be a handgun.

There were no injuries, and the gun was not fired in the robbery.

Police believe the man is in his early 20s, according to a news release. Anyone with information on the robbery or suspect should call police at (701) 787-8000.
