DeMers Avenue and South Third Street will be closed between DeMers and Kittson Avenue from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday in Grand Forks during the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Whistle Stop.
The event will take place in Town Square, celebrating a tree that is making its way from Montana's Kootenai National Forest to Washington.
The celebration will include a formal proclamation, hot chocolate, doughnuts and a winter market featuring seasonal crafts and food vendors. An official Capitol Christmas tree banner can be signed from 9 to 10 a.m.
