Woman killed in collision on icy roads near Arnegard, N.D.
ARNEGARD, N.D. — An Idaho woman was killed and three other people were injured early Friday afternoon when a vehicle spun out of control and struck another on icy roads near Arnegard.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reported Allen F. Parkinson, 52, Sugar City, Idaho, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 85 about 4 miles west of Arnegard when his 2004 GMC Envoy rotated counterclockwise and entered the westbound lanes. Duane P. Lindgren, 64, Fergus Falls, Minn., was traveling west in a 2016 Toyota Highlander when it struck the passenger side of the Lindgren vehicle.
The female passenger in Parkinson’s vehicle, Robyn L. Johnson, 51, Roberts, Idaho, died at the scene. Parkinson, Lindgren and his passenger, Joy L. Lindgren, 61, Fergus Falls, all were taken to the McKenzie County Hospital in Watford City, N.D.
The Highway Patrol said all four people were wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
The McKenzie County Sheriff’s Department, McKenzie County Ambulance and the Arnegard and Alexander Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
