Finley given $210,000 development grant
FINLEY, N.D. -- A small Steele County town has received a large grant for community development.
Finley, a city of about 440 residents about 65 miles southwest of Grand Forks, recently was awarded $210,000 from the Lake Agassiz Regional Development Council, according to a report in the Steele County Press.
The city is planning several infrastructure improvement projects, including the purchase of a backup generator for its water tower, the report stated.
The improvements are meant to make the city’s operations more reliable and less prone to equipment failures, according to the report. It’s estimated the improvements will cost $230,000, but the grant will cover most of that.
