UND lecture series opens with international connections

UND will launch its "Eye of the Hawk" lecture series Thursday with an examination of international connections.

James McGregor, chairman of the greater China region for global public affairs consultancy APCO Worldwide, will deliver a presentation titled "How China Impacts North Dakota and Your Future" at 5:30 p.m. at the Gorecki Alumni Center on campus.

McGregor, a native of Duluth, is a longtime observer of business in China.

He served as the Wall Street Journal's Taiwan bureau chief from 1987 to 1990, at which point he moved to run the bureau on the Chinese mainland until 1994. From then until 2000, McGregor worked as the chief executive of Dow Jones & Company in China.

In addition to his reporting, McGregor has published two books on the Chinese business landscape.
