Snow White, Cinderella, Tinker Bell, Pocahontas and Elsa were among the beloved characters who mingled, danced and sang with children at the third annual “Pancakes with Princesses and Pirates” event Sunday at the VFW in East Grand Forks.
Tinker Bell delighted some of the youngest kids by sprinkling their heads with “fairy dust”.
The fund raising event featured middle and high school vocal students of Maria Williams Kennedy’s Bel Canto Studio in Grand Forks performing popular songs from children’s movies.
Kids were invited to come dressed as princes, princesses or pirates, too.
“This year we added pirates (to the theme) because we had so many little boys coming,” said Kathy Coudle-King, executive director of the Fire Hall Theatre. “They like to get into it too.”
Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Fighters prepared the breakfast of pancakes and sausages.
If you missed Sunday’s event, the Fire Hall Theatre is hosting a similar event, “Pizza with a Princess,” from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday (April 30) at Pizza Ranch, in the Menard’s strip mall, 3750 32nd Ave. S.
Proceeds from these events will be used to repair exterior brick walls of the 110-year-old Fire Hall Theatre, Coudle-King said.
