The Salvation Army will provide items from its food pantry via drive-thru only from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, Lt. Matthew Beatty announced Monday, March 23.
People in need should first call (701) 775-2597 weekdays to do the intake procedure by phone and receive instructions to schedule a time for pick up from the north door of the Salvation Army building at 1600 University Ave.
This will be a “zero contact” process, in keeping with the CDC and local health department guidelines, Beatty said in a news release.
The change in accessing the food pantry was made “with the best interest in mind for the health and safety of both our community and staff,” Beatty said.
“Our plan is still in place to deliver food boxes to anyone infected or officially ordered to quarantine by Public Health in the cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks proper,” he said.
