It happens to everyone - you try a new product and you don’t really like it, but you feel guilty replacing it until you’ve used most of it.

This is the story of me and my last tube of mascara.

Imagine my joy then when the time finally came to replace the disappointing cosmetic with something new and different.

A friend recommended Flower Beauty’s Zoom In Ultimate Mascara.

Experts recommend replacing your mascara every three months, but I like to live on the wild side, I guess. Since I buy mascara so rarely, I had no problem dropping $8 at Walmart for the pretty, shiny metallic tube that comes with a three-in-one brush.

I was most curious how Flower Beauty would engineer the brush, and it’s actually quite simple.

When you remove the brush from the tube the first time, it’s the skinniest version. It’s a little longer than most skinny brushes and the bristles are spaced pretty far from each other.

When you twist the end of the lid, the brush twists and shortens, bringing the bristles closer together. Another twist of the lid intensifies this effect making a short brush with thick bristles.

I’ve used it in each position.

The skinny brush gave me the most definition and length, the first twist added some volume and definition and the second twist gave me lots of volume but didn’t add any noticeable length or definition.

I love the immediate effect and the versatility this product creates. I also love that it doesn’t smudge at all, a major issue for me since I have long eyelashes and extremely pale skin.

My only issue is the same issue I have with each mascara brand I try - it doesn’t last all day.

My life-long search for truly long-lasting mascara will continue, but in the meantime I’m not in any hurry for this tube to be empty.
