They say beauty is pain, and if you don't mind a little sting, then I recommend using cleansing strips to unclog pores on your skin.

I tried Biore deep cleansing pore strips in college and recently took up the practice again. Once you get over the idea you're literally ripping dirt and grime out of your skin, they're not too bad.

The product is simple enough to use, though getting it placed perfectly on your damp nose can take a couple of tries if you're not used to using pore strips.

Once the strip dries and hardens - usually in 10 to 15 minutes - it's go time.

Taking the strip off is about as painful as taking off a particularly sticky Band-Aid. If you're picturing that waxing scene from the movie "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" then don't worry, it's not that dramatic.

You will be wide awake once the strip comes off, though.

The results are visible, both on a nose and on the strip. My pores were less noticeable and the sticky part of the strip resembled a very tiny mountain range. It looked gross, but it's satisfying to see it actually works.

I'd caution against getting the strip too damp because you'll end up with some residue being left behind that you'll have to scrub off.

The manufacturers recommend weekly use, so for $5.99 you receive eight strips that should last two months.
