Molly Yeh, star of the Food Network's "Girl Meets Farm," and her husband Nick Hagen, of rural East Grand Forks, welcomed their first child, Bernadette Rosemary Yeh Hagen, on Saturday.

The baby, who weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz and measured 21.5 inches, arrived "right on time" at 1:30 a.m. at Altru Hospital, Yeh said.

"It's been such a dream," the best-selling cookbook author and food blogger said in a phone interview Tuesday. "It's a totally new world. She's amazing. We're so in love."

She and her husband "have been enjoying these first few days, listening to music," said Yeh, who returned home from the hospital Monday.

Yey, who was raised in Chicago, and Hagen met as students at Juilliard School of Music in New York City and married in December 2014.

Their first child is named for ancestors on both sides of the family.

"Bernadette" is derived from Hagen's great-great-grandfather, Bernt, who emigrated from Norway in 1876 to start the farm north of East Grand Forks, Yeh said. "My great-grandfather, Bernard, came from Hungary, and Rosemary is my mom's mom.

"So we're paying homage to our family," she said.

Yeh is looking forward to using her food expertise to prepare meals for Bernadette.

"I'm ready to pack cute lunches, with colorful foods in cute little boxes, when she's old enough to go to school," she said. "That'll be fun."

The food blogger and best-selling cookbook author filmed season 2 and 3 of her Food Network series, "Girl Meets Farm," while pregnant.

Yeh has been nominated for a Daytime TV Emmy in the "outstanding culinary host" category.

Her popular blog, "My Name is Yeh," which launched her career in the food blogosphere, will be updated with posts and recipes she prepared in advance.
