First case of the this season's flu diagnosed
GRAND FORKS - Flu season could be longer locally, as the first case of the flu was diagnosed in Grand Forks.
Dr. Cedric Masa at Aurora Urgent Care says he diagnosed a female patient on Monday morning, months before he usually sees the flu.
The doctor says he called the North Dakota Department of Health to report the case, and found this is the first this season.
The doctor says the woman went to a concert where hundreds of people could have been exposed to the flu.
Now may be a crucial time to get the vaccine.
“If people haven't gotten their flu vaccines yet then it's a good time to get it because this year the flu season came early,” Aurora Urgent Care Dr. Cedric Masa said.
You can get your vaccine at Aurora Urgent Care or your healthcare provider.
