Put another topping on the pizza for Rhombus Guys.
The Grand Forks restaurant is one of 13 pizzerias featured in "Life of Pie," a tops-in-the-region article in the March-April edition of Midwest Living magazine.
Rhombus' entry includes a photo of the building's exterior, adds an anecdote -- but not the anchovies -- of how then-18-year-olds Matt Winjum and Arron Hendriks started the business and named it a few years ago.
The magazine refers to Rhombus, which regularly wins taste-test awards for its T-Rex and other varieties, as the "best 'za in North Dakota." The restaurant, which opened on Grand Forks' Kittson Avenue in 2007, also has branches in Fargo and Mentor, Minn.
Among the other Midwest pizzeria honorees are: Pompeii Pizzeria in Elk River, Minn.; Wood-Fired Pizza and Grille in Fish Creek, Wis.; Buddy's Pizzeria in Detroit; Gino's East in Chicago; and Cicero's in St. Louis.

The only other North Dakota business mentioned -- on a list of 14 honorable mentions -- is Pizza Corner in Valley City, but not for its frozen pizzas, which are staples at bars around the region. Rather, the article mentions its Ice Cream Classic frozen novelties, which are free to dine-in customers.
