The Grand Forks Senior Center is offering a drive-thru Easter Feast for seniors from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 23 at the Alerus Center. It is a no-contact event.
Tickets are required to receive a meal. Participants must reserve a ticket by Friday, March 12. Seniors may also call the Senior Center, at (701) 772-7245, after that date to see if any tickets are available. Tickets will be mailed to those who request them.
Only individuals who are 60 years of age and older, and their spouses of any age, are eligible to receive the meal, which includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn, tossed salad, dinner roll, and banana cake with whipped cream.
At the drive-thru on March 23, participants can pick up meals for friends, family and neighbors, as long as you have their tickets, said Jami Schumacher, public relations manager at the Senior Center.
The suggested per-meal contribution is $5, she said. A contribution envelope will be sent in the mail with your tickets. Those wishing to make a contribution should put the cash or check in the envelope and give that, along with your tickets, to the drive-thru attendant.
At the drive-thru, enter on the south side of the Alerus Center parking lot from 42nd Street. Watch for signage or people to direct you, Schumacher said. Drive up to the building, hand the attendant your tickets, and receive your meal through your vehicle’s back window.
There will be no drive-thru meal pick-up March 23 at the Senior Center.
