THIEF RIVER FALLS -- A 96-year-old farmer from northwestern Minnesota has died three months after his 98-year-old brother died while looking for him in the snow outside their farm home, the Forum of Fargo-Moorhead has reported.
Carl Larson died Thursday shortly after moving from his rural Oklee, Minn., home into a nursing home in Thief River Falls.
In November, Carl Larson walked away from the home where he and his brother, Bill, had lived for more than 90 years. Bill walked out looking for Carl but got lost himself. Hunters found him in a field and he soon died.
Carl Larson, meanwhile, had collapsed in a ditch and suffered hypothermia, but survived and was hospitalized.
The Larson brothers were bachelors who lived on the farm homesteaded by their father in 1896.

Carl had just moved into a Thief River Falls nursing home when he died, friends said.
Carl Larson's funeral is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday in Salem Lutheran Church in rural Oklee.
