After a long, cold and windy winter, Eagle's Crest dining facilities are about to break out with spring and summer fare.
The restaurant, open to the public, is located on South Columbia Road where golfers gather at Eagles Crest course. It also draws groups that meet for lunch. It's a place for dinner. And there's an outside area called "The Turn" where golfers like to stop for refreshments before starting their second nine holes.
By the time March bows out, there should be service on the patio. It seats up to 100.
The lavosh is a favorite of many who golf at Eagles Crest and those who meet there to do business or play bridge. My favorite is the version with havarti cheese, mushrooms and black olives. Two or three can share the 15-ounce version for $12.99. Homemade soups are good with the beef dumplings, a favorite along with chicken wild rice.
The restaurant is leased by Paul Waind, well-known Grand Forks restaurateur. And his son Jeff, who serves as chef, has become a partner. The restaurant does catering around the area.
There's an open kitchen where entrees ranging from grilled chicken breast ($14.99) on up to 12-ounce ribeye steaks ($19.99) are prepared.
On Sundays and holidays, Eagles Crest has long been a place for brunch. There, the choices are wide enough to please almost everyone.
Eagles Crest Grill is a large, inviting facility with windows to the golf course all around. In cooler weather, a massive stone fireplace at the center welcomes guests. The walls are tastefully adorned with pictures of local golf celebrities. Tables and chairs are made of blonde oak. A side room beyond the dining room is used for group meetings.
Visitors often enjoy studying the photos of well known local golfers on the walls.

Report card: A wide range of choices in a large, upscale facility with pleasant view of Eagles Crest golf course. Generally good food. Service at least a B. Ladies room rates an A for being clean and pleasant.
