A Zombie Music Fest, featuring regional rock bands, Halloween fun, free french fries and a beer garden, is being planned for 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 2 in Town Square, downtown Grand Forks, sponsored by North Valley Arts Council.
Zombie Music Fest will be a first in the Grand Forks area, a news release said, and will be modeled after similar successful events in Minneapolis, Fargo and Sioux Falls, S.D. Organizers will "turn Town Square into a biohazard area where no humans are safe," a NoVAC news release said. Participants will be encouraged (but not required) to come dressed as zombies.
Admittance to the Zombie Music Fest will be $5. The Aultimate Ozzy, an Ozzy Osbourne tribute band judged the best tribute band in the nation by VH1, will headline the music festival at 8:30 p.m.
Also playing are TIM the band, a jazz-funk band from South Dakota; If I Ran the Zoo, a rock band from Bismarck; The Neckties, a punk band from Grand Forks; and Dirty Phoenix, a rock and cover band also from Grand Forks.
Free french fries, provided by Simplot, will be included with the price of admission. Rhombus Guys will host the beer garden, which will be separated from the family area and will be restricted to those 21 and over.
