Xcel Energy and the North Valley Arts Council will honor eco-conscious creators as Xcel Energy Green Artists on June 12-13 at the Grand Cities Art Fest in downtown Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, a news release said.
Energy Green Artists are asked to commit to:
n Using nontoxic, nonpolluting materials and seeking healthier and safer alternatives.
n Working with natural fibers and ecological themes.
n Creating artwork of environmental interest (i.e. photographing nature).

n Manipulating organic, natural, sustainable or recycled materials.
n Expending renewable energy sources in the creation of their artwork.
Visitors to the Grand Cities Art Fest (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 12 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13) can see the green artists in action.
