MOORHEAD - Amazing progress is being made today on the new Bill and Adair Grommesh home at the "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" site in Moorhead.
In fact, producers of the ABC TV show say work on the new home is so far ahead of schedule that staff have at times asked the builders to slow down so they can catch up with filming, said Daryl Braham, co-owner of Heritage Homes of Fargo.
Heritage Homes is the lead building on the "Extreme Makeover" project at 803 22nd Ave. S. This is the third "Extreme Makeover home for the company, which convinced ABC to come to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Braham was able to talk about a couple of surprises that await the Grommesh family when they return at the end of the week from a trip to the Bahamas - a pool that can be used for therapy and an elevator inside the home.
An elevator with double-doors will be installed on the south side of the house, which will be close to 4,000 square feet.

Workers are also installing small, enclosed swimming pool in the southeast corner of that house that is about the size for a therapy pool.
Workers have two floors built and as of 11 a.m. this morning, volunteer students from Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Moorhead were putting sheathing on top of the roof and doing other carpentry work.
Within a couple of hours, workers were expected to start adding windows and doing shingling.
Later this afternoon and evening, plumbers and electricians will be in the house to start that work.
