The Grand Forks Public Library and UND Athletic Department have partnered to present a Winter Reading Program for children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade and beginning Dec. 4.
The kick-off party will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 4 at the library featuring a magic show by magician Jeffery Salveson. Sign-up for the Winter Reading Program will begin at the party and continue throughout the program, a news release said.
The final party will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at Betty Engelstad Sioux Center during the UND women's basketball team vs. Houston Baptist game. Students in grades K-6 who have completed the eight-hour reading requirement will receive free tickets to the game, and will have their names entered into a drawing to win fun prizes. They will also be recognized on-court at half-time during the game game. Parents can purchase tickets at a reduced cost.
