Miley Cyrus' reputation as a role model for young women has taken another hit as a video of the pop star smoking from a bong began circulating around the Internet this morning.
The video, posted on the celebrity news site TMZ.com, shows Cyrus inhaling smoke from a vertical smoking bong. The devices are commonly used for smoking marijuana. However, according to the TMZ report, a Cyrus associate says the star was smoking a natural herb called salvia. Though it is legal to use in California, Salvia does have psychedelic properties. The TMZ report says this video was shot after Cyrus' 18th birthday party.
This video is just the latest issue of moral character for the pop star who a few years ago was praised by her parents for portraying a wholesome teen girl in the Disney program "Hannah Montana."
Cyrus has also inspired criticism for performing on stage with a stripper pole and for a wardrobe that has become more revealing in recent months.
