Two days after UND athletics and Midcontinent Communications announced a 5-year, $1 million broadcasting deal, the University of South Dakota and South Dakota State released their agreements Wednesday with the regional cable provider.

Midco Sports Network says it will broadcast up to 10 live events for SDSU during the 2012-13 season, plus up to 24 weekly special shows featuring the Jackrabbits athletic department.

The contract with USD calls for up to 15 live events and up to 24 weekly special shows for the 2012-13 season.

Both the USD and SDSU deals are for six years.

UND's deal with Midcontinent calls for up to 45 live events and up to 40 weekly special shows.

"We have worked hard to work around kickoff times, puck drop times and tip times with our available schools to get a schedule in place," said Mark Powell, Midcontinent Communications Vice President of Business Solutions. "We do have three networks available. When there's a conflict, we'll have to put one game on another channel. But for the most part, we're going to do our best to program one channel."

Powell said he wants the final programming schedule completed by the last week of July.
