The annual Trivia Night fundraiser for the Grand Cities Children's Choir will be Saturday at Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks with games based on a hunting theme and participants encouraged to dress in hunting attire.

Trivia Night will be eight category rounds of trivia with eight questions in each round, a news release said. Tables of eight will compete as teams with each team working together to come up with responses for each round.

Each team's answers will be submitted to the judges at the end of each round. The team providing the most correct responses for all rounds combined will be the winner. Cash prizes totaling more than $1,000 will be awarded to the top three teams.

The objective of Trivia Night is to raise money to help send 65 members of Primo Voce, the seventh- through ninth-grade choir, on a musical trip to Minneapolis, said Melanie Popejoy, founder and artistic director of Grand Cities Children's Choir.

The family-friendly event will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Grand Forks Sharon Lutheran Church. The entry fee is $20 per adult of $150 to reserve a table of eight. Child care for children under age 10 will be available upon request.

In addition to the trivia competition Saturday night, there will be games such as "Heads or Tails" and "Name That Tune," 50/50 draws, a silent auction of decadent desserts and door prizes for the best hunting themed costumes.

Food will be available for purchase from Rhombus Guys Pizza, as well as barbecue sandwiches, tacos-in-a-bag, baked goods, popcorn and pop.

Emcees for the evening will be Dave Molmen and Rick Gessler.

Popejoy said the choir trip to Minneapolis would feature a workshop with a guest conductor and expert on the development of children's choirs. The choir would give a performance in downtown Minneapolis and attend the Broadway touring company production of "The Lion King" at Orpheum Theater.
