- Art in the Park Saturday: Turtle River State Park, Arvilla, N.D., will celebrate a new event, Art in the Park, on Saturday as a way to allow visitors to connect art to nature. Join the naturalist at the Visitor Center from 10:30 a.m. to noon to kick off the event with a children's art project as part of the Dakota Explorer Program. Scrapping and stamping will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at Woodland Lodge with Delayne Mabry, a Creative Memory consultant, and Jamie Laos, Stampin' Up consultant. Participants can create their own work. 'Mockingbird'
- Free movie Wednesday at the Empire: The Art & Democracy Film Series will present "To Kill a Mockingbird," the 1962 movie in which Gregory Peck plays Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era South who defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge, and his kids against prejudice.
